Hair du Jour Day 69: March 9, 2012
Back Comb
How to do it:
So my hair was perfect before I did this look...Air dried so nicely and the hair band was just in the right place. My hair is so much healthier doing it everyday...who knew?
Right behind the hair band I lifted a 4 inch wide, 1/4 inch deep section. Holding it firmly, I used the comb above to brush back toward roots. This is called backcombing. Gives a little lift without Jersey Shore/Peg Bundy volume. Right away, my sister-in-law said "Ooh, pretty! Perfect!" So simple.
Time to do it: 20 seconds once I had the right tool
Okay, 1: Having the right tool means everything. This one above was 59 cents at Sally. 2: I had no idea backcombing and teasing were the same thing. Good to know :) Now I am able to do a lot of the styles I saw on Pinterest just because a friend told me I can't tease hair without a special comb. I guess I should have figured a wide tooth brush wouldn't do the trick. Hehe. Right?
