Day 72: Backflip Bun

Hair du Jour Day 72:  March 12, 2012

Backflip Bun

How to do it:
Pull hair into a low ponytail (you will need the space to flip up).  Secure with strong ponytail holder.  Make one or two bobby pin x's underneath the holder to support the weight of your do.

Flip ponytail up.  Tuck ends of ponytail into your ponytail holder on the side that points up to the sky.  Pull ends far enough in so they will hold securely through the day.  While still holding the bun pin with bobby pins on the inside of the bun that you will lay against your head.  This will keep the hair in place.       You can also let the bun floop over if you want to have a different sort of look.

Time to do it:  About 2 minutes (for the pinning and figuring out how to tuck the ends in without loosening the ponytail)

All around not bad.  Looks a little plain from the side...probably because you can see through the bun like a pipe.  Maybe I will pin the other sides down in the future.  Would look excellent topped with flowers or sparkly diamond accents for a bridesmaid or prom do.  Fancy!
