Hair du Jour Day 55: February 24, 2012
Loose French Fishtail Braid
How to do it:
Know how to fishtail braid? If not, pause and open another window. Pull my blog up again and search for the post with the Fishtail Bun...it has a link to a fishtail braid tutorial. I'll wait. (Don't forget to come back.)
At the top of your head, pull two pieces of hair (about 1/4 inch each) out like you're going to start a regular French braid. Alternating sides, add pieces left and right like you're fishtailing a ponytail, but you're adding in all of the pieces of your hair like a French Braid. Yessss! Continue to the end of your hair and tie with a tiny elastic (allows gravity to create a nice Boho look by the end of the day)
Time to do it: 3 minutes-ish
LOVELOVELOVELOVELOOVVVVVEEEE. I invented this today as I was envisioning how to create a luscious, fat, romantic braid. Same fishtailing concept applies, but it draws in all of your hair. I love that this is asymmetrical and piecy. L O V E ! I WILL NEVER DO A REGULAR FRENCH BRAID AGAIN!!!!!!!!! p.s. Could be even piecier with pomade or wax: fyi.
