Day 26: Side ponytail wrapped with leather, metal headband

Hair du Jour Day 26: January 26, 2012

Side ponytail wrapped with leather, metal headband

How to do it:
Prep:  Cut apart a leather necklace (or just buy some leather cording).  Tie other accents on to your leather cord (this one has a silver cut out bead).  You want the cord to be about 3 times the length of the pony tail so you can finish the look around the hair tie at the end.  Before you begin, fold the cording in half and tie it onto the rubber band you want to use for the base of your hair (save this for other hairstyles in the future).  Hold it up to your hair and adjust length if needed.  Don't want it too short or too long.

Loosely pull hair to nape of neck on side.  Secure with rubber band with leather cording attached.  Tie a firm knot around the rubber band you just secured.
Divide ponytail into 3 parts.  Wrap one outside piece loosely with leather.  Repeat on the other outside piece.  Tie all three strands (one naked strand) together with ponytail holder.  Use remaining leather to hide ponytail holder.
Finish with small metallic headband.  This one is gold and doesn't match the silver jewelry I'm wearing, but whatev.  I looked fruity with all that gold on.  What, do I look like I'm from Boca?

Shamelessly stolen from Pinterest, but never would have had the guts to try this before.

Time to do it: About 2 minutes of actual work.  Prep work and figuring out design took about 5 minutes

Cutie-cuteness.  "Mama Dee, what do you think? (pose)" "I think you look too cute to be a mother of 2! (hug)"  Yesssss!
