Day 30: Tiny Side French Braid Ponytail Wrap

Hair du Jour Day 30:  January 30, 2012

Tiny Side French Braid Ponytail Wrap

How to do it:
A mirror helps for the first step:  Begin at top center and weave a very tiny French Braid (tricky if you have bangs...that's why the mirror helps)  The trick is to pull pieces from the face line instead of toward the crown of your hair (will make the French Braid too wide otherwise).  Braid to end of hair and secure with tiny elastic.
Gather remaining hair in side ponytail.
Wrap tail of French Braid around ponytail holder (seen above) and secure underneath ponytail.
For a neat look, carefully cut the tiny elastic so the appearance is that the braid alone holds the ponytail.

How long to do it:  About 8 minutes (might be quicker for you, but this was my first side French Braid)

All right!  Not too bad.  Really like the soft waves in the front and the loose, yet controlled look.  Artsy and stylish without much effort.  Felt very glam for the grocery store and playground!
