Day 45: Rose-shaped Bun

Hair du Jour Day 45:  February 14, 2012 <3

Rose-shaped Bun

How to do it:
Arrange hair so that it all falls over one side.  Divide top half from bottom half.  Pull top half into ponytail.  As you're securing the ponytail with a strong ponytail holder, loosely let the last wrap of the ponytail holder catch your tail into a folded bun (It makes a U shaped bun instead of an O shaped bun)  If you have really long hair, you may have to fold the hair several times to make a shorter middle piece. Look above and you can see that my middle for my rose could be just a little bit further in toward my head.  Pin down through the ponytail into your hair below to secure the middle of your flower in place. I did a pretty side 'do.
Divide the hair on the bottom half in two.  Twist one half up and around the bun you created (this will be the start of your petals).  Repeat with the second half of the bottom half, winding your way up (3D out from your head) to create the rest of your petals.  Pin well all the way around with hair pins.  I left out the tails of my twists and sprayed them generously with hairspray to make them look like leaves.

Time to do it:  About 2 minutes

Instead of putting flowers in your hair why not make your hair into a flower.  Right?!  Adorned here with a small flower clip and headband, but this could be done in so many ways.  Send me pictures if you try this!
