Day 78: Y Braid

Hair du Jour Day 78:  March 18, 2012

Y Braid

How to do it:
I got the inspiration for this as I was creating my St. Patrick's Day hairdo yesterday.  I'm sure other people have done this, but I invented the name today.

Like yesterday's, part hair down the middle and weave a French Braid on one side as far up toward your bangs as you can get.  Stop at the half up mark and clip it up until you're ready for it.  Repeat the same process on the other side.  When you feel brave, unclip the first French braid and, taking each braid in your hands use them as 2 of your 3 pieces to use to create a French braid (I pulled my third section from in between the two braids to create a middle strand).  Continue French braiding the remainder of your hair all the way to the tips.  Secure with a tiny elastic.  The one above contrasts nicely (it was a clear one).  Fun with accessories!

Time to do it:  About 3 minutes while I was waiting in the Sacristy for my part to read in Mass

Today was a fancy day at work and I had to read during the Mass (service on a Sunday) so I was dressy and proper.  This did the job very nicely.  Even got approached afterward to do a voiceover for a documentary.  Okay, so I won't be seen, but that's not the point :)  Ha.  At least I liked my hair.  What do you all think?
