Day 77: 2 Mini French Braid Ponytails

Hair du Jour Day 77:  March 17, 2012
St. Patrick's Day

2 Mini French Braid Ponytails with 2 headbands

How to do it:
Part hair evenly down the middle if you don't already have this part in your hair naturally.  (You can also leave your front part where it is or swoop it over to the side and just go back a few inches to do the center part)  Weave a small French Braid starting as high as you can start near your bangs down to where a half up hairdo would be.  Tie with a mini elastic (good shot of what these look like in the above photo...in your hand they look dime-sized or smaller and come in a million different colors.  I prefer the black because it fades into my hair or the clear if I want to add texture and chunkiness).  Let the tail of your braid fall into a little ponytail.  Repeat with the other side of your hair.  Finish off with a cute fat headband or two small ones (I wouldn't usually go for bright green, but as you can see by the shamrock behind me it's St. Patrick's Day).  Play with accessories for this style!

Time to do it:  About 2 minutes

I almost can't believe I never thought to do this before.  It's pretty cute if I may say so.  I thought about doing a shamrock do like the heart topped ponytail I did the day before Valentine's Day (February 13 if you're scrolling back to look on this blog).  To do a shamrock do you can simply make three hearts around the ponytail instead of one.  Voila!  I almost feel like a little turn of the century Irish girl, though I am nothing but 100% Slavic.  I could pull it off!
